Hello,
Has anyone had success booting SuSE 11 B3 either over PXE or from a USB flash drive? I've tried both, but with no avail...
USB just dies saying 'No bootable partition found ' even though the flash drive (Kingston 2GB) is formatted with FAT16 and had been syslinux'd, and the contents of the ISO copied over.

PXE boot dies because the KIWI liveCD can't find the filesystem on the CD drive...

I'd really like to try it out on my laptop, but with the full release so imminent, I'd rather not waste a CD on it.
Thanks!

openSUSE-11.0 RC1 is due 29-May, and the GM version will be out in June. IMHO if you do not want to test and write bug reports, you are best to wait a month or so until after the GM is out.

I've been using openSUSE-11.0 beta2 and beta3, and there are some boot problems, that I have read (in the reply to the bug report I raised) will be fixed.

I'm somewhat surprised by the "waste a CD" comment. CDs (and indeed even DVDs) are incredibly cheap now adays. For me its more the time that is wasted, than the CD. I regularly burn Linux distributions to a CD, test them, and throw out the CD. I can do this for dozens of CDs, and thats less than the cost of a beer. ... But the time spent, ... thats another matter.

I am aware that they are relatively cheap, but I suppose it's a matter of personal opinion- to me, something like this isn't worth a CD, especially in this case where it will only serve me once... and more of an 'I'd like to ' rather than ' I need to'.
If I was testing on more computers then I'd have no hesitations about firing off another soon-to-be coaster.
