Hello,

I have come up with a problem. For some reason when I try to install the SUSE Linux 10, it start up normaly, but as soon as I get into the installation screen (where to start with selecting your language) and the mouse appears, neither the keyboard or the mouse respond (everything sits still and I have to reboot manualy, also same thing happened when I tryed to install Ubuntu earlier).
I allready installed SUSE on my mom's PC (worked like a charm , she also has the same mouse as I do, so I'm clueless here), so the DVD is not corrupt or anything like that. I'm guessing the problem is beatween the start when the kernel starts the installation and after the installation screen is displayed (I also tryed installing it in safe mode, didn't help).

So does anyone have any bright ideas on what I could, to make it work?

Thanks for your help and time.

PS: My mouse and keyboard are boath PS/2 plugins, not USB.

Some ideas:
a. try an installation with "safe settings";
b. look for a BIOS setting that might help;
c. check for a BIOS update to your motherboard;
d. it used to be one could hold down either the <CTR> key, or the <ALT> key, or the <SHIFT> key, or some other key when first booting the installation DVD, that worked as a workaround (at least to get the keyboard working).
e. if this is a laptop, sometimes plugging in an external monitor will help (I know, that sound bizarre, but it has been known to help .... ).

Found out that someone had same problem (http://suseforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37227) and they manage to fix it
Seems like that Linux doesn't like something from the USB Mouse and Keyboard Support from the BIOS settings and needs to be dissabled in order to get things moving.

Thx for your thoughts & help anyway

Glad its working for you now.

From what I understand, you had to disable the USB Mouse and Keyboard Support from your PC's BIOS.
