here is my problem I had suse fine and dandy and i decided to install a 2nd hd as removable storage via ide hard drive case. So i get into suse and it detects the 2nd hd and i tried to partition it and what not . And decide that I am getting no where fast so i shutdown suse and take the 2nd hd out and reboot suse gives me the same error as in this post read mount error ok next logical step boot the computer with the 2nd hd disk inserted right? No luck there either but diffrent error I can't get into the gui, /etc/init.d/rc5.d/S13kbd: line 175 : /usr/sbin//hwinfo : no such directory
and a few more errors like cannot start services etc.

and then it brings me to a login prompt.

If it is possible alls I wanna do is get my files I have in my /root/desktop/moviesetc shared out (it was previously shared out via samba) to my windows machine so i can back the files up and then reinstall Suse 9.2.

I have tried to do this with knoppix 3.6 with no luck. here are the posts from the knoppix forum that I have made #1

it will not let me move my "moviesetc" folder into my "home folder" here is the command i was using
dd if=/mnt/hda2/root/Desktop/moviesetc of=/mnt/hda2/home
then it says
dd: opening `/mnt/hda2/home` : Is a directory
Try
Code:
dd if=/mnt/hda2/root/Desktop/moviesetc of=/mnt/hda2/home/foo.file
Also you could give the System repair option a chance.
