I am using openSuse 10.3 on Acer Travelmate 4062LMi. How can I disable/enable hardware to save power without rebooting? I am particularly interested in disabling ethernet and cardbus. With these on, my battery life is reduced by 15%.

I hope there is some applet for it but if there is not, console commands would be fine too.
