OK I have a Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8185 IEEE 802.1 1a/b/g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 20)

I Just want to confirm that this work 100% on a Gateway MX3231.

download the driver here:
http://www.realtek.cz/getfile.php
save the driver on your desktop and unzip it.

Go through this guide: (ndiswrapper)

also updated Wiki at : http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Laptops/Gateway
