Unhappy

Dear all Linux masters,

Roughly speaking, once I solve this problem there won't be a reason to use MS-Windows anymore.

I am using Lenovo 3000 N100 0768-B9G, with openSUSE 10.2 and KDE desktop. Shortly after I installed the openSUSE the sound settings went wrong.

The problem is that the sound is full of noise and distortions. Unless the volume is very low, then I get lots of noise. It is as if the basses were too loud for the speakers (either built-in, earphones or external stereo speakers).

Today I realized that if I open the "YaST -> Hardware -> Sound" and just do nothing there and then "accept" then everything is OK again. Until I lose it again.

I'm very bad with Linux, thus I would appreciate any kind of well detailed help and instruction.

All the best and have a nice weekend,
Dror
