hi,
I have installed SuSe 10.3 and cant hear any sound neither the system sound nor media such as mp3, avi files.
The audio Driver works fine in windows XP.
The machine device id i find of it in winXP is
hdaudio\func_01&ven_14fl&dev_504&subsys_103C30a5

Hi. At least we need to know what kind of sound chip you have. So try to configure it via Yast->Hardware->audio. Maybe this is different because my distro is in Italian. Then post the kind of card detected. But anyway if there is some hope to solve any sound related issue is to download and install the very latest alsa audio driver from this page: http://www.alsa-project.org/main/index.php/Main_Page
