you need to install the ipw firmware & driver to get wireless working. once installed go to yast - network devices -network cards & work your way through the pages

I am sorry if i sound a little rude....

but isn't obvious what i need to do?

my problem is how to do it. you are telling me... to get you wireless working you need to get the drivers, install and configure it. I am not a computer illiterate, however i do concede i am not too savvy in Lin.

but thank you for your answer.

1 ) open yast -software management.
2 ) in the search area type "ipw" ( without the quotes )
3 ) select the intel wireless drivers/firmware appropriate to your system
4 )click on accept
5 ) open yast - network devices - network cards
6 ) click on your wireless device & then click edit
7 ) enter details as necessary

also worth a read is this http://wiki.suselinuxsupport.de/wikka.php?...oConfigWifiCard any problems, post them here & any error message you got

Hello,

Truly i do not know whether to scream at you or to thank you

I guess I will thank you screaming at you. any way to the point.

You mentioned i had that i had to install the ipw firmware and drivers, so i went ahead with your advice. unluckily that caused my comp to crashed. so i tried doing a recovery and was not able to fix the errors. I ran that procedure several times and to my dismay i was not able to recover the system would hang up right after it loaded.

So i cursed heaven and hell and then decided to reinstall.

well completed re-installation and everything is working!!!!!!!!!

Computer recognized the video card and change res
and system auto recoginzed my wireless....

What can i say, the luck of the draw

However i do thank, seriously.

Excellent. glad to read you got it all working, albeit after a re-install ( never had to do that since starting out with Linux )
