You state you installed the latest alsa? ... 1.0.14 is not the latest, although it does come with 10.3. It does look to me that you custom installed alsa-1.0.14a library. However v.1.0.15 is the latest. There is a more current set of alsa rpms here ...
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/....3_Update/i586/
.... although give the kernel update that came out last night, I don't anticipate that those rpms will stay there long.

I installed the lastest alsa yesterday and everything seemed to work fine (except for the DBus problem), but when I started my pc this morning it was a complete mess (I don't know if I did something else wrong...but the sound didn't work even with headphones and the wireless card stopped working too) so I did a fresh install to restart from the beginning

So now I'm a bit concerned about installing the new alsa drivers and libraries....I don't want to end up like this morning

From now on, I will keep trace of every change I made...so that I can at least try to undo any damage...
About this...what is the inverse procedure of (make + make install)? I'm not sure that I can uninstall every package via yast...

I'll try your new hints and I will let you know about the results

Thanks again

You probably over-reacted re-installing.

There was a kernel update last night, and often a kernel update will break one's wireless and sound, until the appropriate work arounds are adopted.

Still, taking notes is good! I've been playing with Linux since 1998, and I still take notes on what I do (although some would claim thats necessary for me because of my horrible memory).
