I all,

I got an Acer Aspire 3050 ZR3.
My system is openSUSE 10.3 (X86-64).
On this machine I have a card reader, the output of lspci is:

08:01.0 CardBus bridge: ENE Technology Inc CB-712/4 Cardbus Controller (rev 10)
08:01.1 FLASH memory: ENE Technology Inc ENE PCI Memory Stick Card Reader Controller (rev 01)
08:01.2 Generic system peripheral [Class 0805]: ENE Technology Inc ENE PCI Secure Digital Card Reader Controller (rev 01)
08:01.3 FLASH memory: ENE Technology Inc FLASH memory: ENE Technology Inc: (rev 01)
08:01.4 FLASH memory: ENE Technology Inc SD/MMC Card Reader Controller (rev 01)

Simply it doesn't work !
Any suggestion ?

I made some investigation and it seems that it should work ....

just a quickie, as i don't have a built-in card reader ( laptop is ancient ) have you tried inserting flash media to see if it works ? when you insert media does it appear in My Computer ? does it appear when you browse under /media ?

B) Yes, of course !
It's the first thing to do in this situation !
Inserting a (working !) card there is no reaction.
Consider that during the test I had a console with "tail -f /var/log/messages" and there was no reaction !
Another consideration, I'm sure of the proper operation of the device because with "another operating system  " it works !

Ok, the problem is with the module "sdhci" that is buggy in some kernel version.
I'm investigating if there is a solution for this problem.

No way
They are working to a patch (http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kerne...0e38901#patch1)
for the ENE hardware ....
