I am running a cx2724 tablet using Intel 950 video driver. The screen resolution should be 1440 x 900. I have set the right resolution settings in SaX2, but when I go into screen resolution (in Gnome I think) my resolution is not there. How do I get the correct resolution to display on my screen.

The screen resolution is the only reason why I am not using suse full time.

Add these 3 lines to /etc/init.d/boot.local

915resolution 3a 1440 900 8 1904 934
915resolution 4b 1440 900 16 1904 934
915resolution 5a 1440 900 32 1904 934

It is funny, the resolutions are in sax2, but I cannot get my computer to display them.

915resolution will not work with the intel driver which is default in 10.3

My suggestion:

1. Set the monitor size and aspect ratio in Yast along to the monitor resolution.

2. Run

gcf 1440 900 60

and you will get something like

# 1440x900 @ 60.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 55.92 kHz; pclk: 106.47 MHz
Modeline "1440x900_60.00" 106.47 1440 1520 1672 1904 900 901 904 932 -HSyn c +Vsync

3. copy the Modeline line but rename the "1440x900_60.00" to "1440x900" in the section "Modes" in your xorg.conf

This is how it worked for me, I hope it does for you too.

Running the intel 950, i had to start out with a low resolution and test each step when i finally
got it working correctly at the 1200 range. anything above that it caused problems. it takes
time to do it this way but it was worth the effort.
