Before we attempt anything exotic, could you please confirm you checked all the basics? ie. a. sound turned ON in BIOS, and if this doesn't help b. sound physically turned up if there is a sound dial .. , and if this doesn't help c. went to YAST > HARDWARE > SOUND > other and tried volume, ... test ... etc ... , and if this doesn't help d. went to YAST > HARDWARE > SOUND > EDIT and tried to reset up your sound , and if this doesn't help e. opened a konsole and typed "alsaconf" I notice you have line at 0% ... Is that correct ? Should it be higher ? A great place to get LINUX sound specific help is on IRC chat channel #ALSA (via freenode). One can get real time suggestions there. |

Same here-- it's a Smartlink Modem you need to access through Alsa. I've made some progress in getting it to the point where wvdial detects the modem and kinternet seems to dial, but it doesn't actually do any dialling on the phone line.
I'll post any progress updates here. |

Update: Modem is NOT supported- it requires new code from LSI as it is a new generation of chips, NOT Si3xxx. It is being worked on but no time projections exist...
