So, It's time for a new laptop. Is there a page (URL) somewhere which tells me what hardware/drivers/etc are compatible with opensuse 10.2? As you can imagine, I don't want to waste money on something if I can't use it's full functionality. Basic things like wireless, etc...

If it's any help I bought a Thinkpad R60e less than a year ago and it's honestly the best laptop I have owned.

Works pretty much out of the box with SuSE. Has the timeless Thinkpad design (it has grown on me) and a fantastic keyboard.

I have my eye on the X61t but I need to find out first if my sausage like fingers will manage the keyboard or not for long periods

Most of these systems are tested with varieties of sizes and they take the average size, So if your sausage is about average, you should be ok.

AIGLX/GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is lacking, meaning if you like eye-candy, you will have difficulties running beryl and the likes. You must implement a middle man like XGL which render your other 3d programs useless. This is just one issue. There is progress and it will get better, but until then...

Thinkpad's don't die they just turn into old pluggers.

And I second the Thinkpad....Running Suse 10.2 on an R40

I also recommend the Think Pads. They are worth every penny.
