How do you know its not working?

With mine, the 3D bit was crossed out in SAX2 when I set up the resolution, but openGL seems to work fine ..glxgears runs no probs.

The 3D is enabled (force enabled it in X in 3d settings) and works a little bit (can swring the cube) but nothing on the screen refreshes (have to switch to another X session and back after clikcing something) and the graphics is ofcouse very slow/sticky.
Have tried the old ATI drivers, new ones, different types of installs etc, will look in Xorg.conf for the 3D bit

same problem!
by using fglrx, I get glxgears=5200, with interruptions
In addition my resolution is 1280x800 but the vesa driver caches it only if I configure for 1600x1000. The maximum of the rendered resolution remains still 1024x768. The only working videoplayer is mplayer, everything else crashes X. Of course also fglrx crashes X by attempting to play some video with no mplayer, but at least forces the necessary resolution. Sax don't finds the radeon driver and so on.I don't write more about.
