In windows I could just take the wireless card out of my laptop, and then put it back in, and OS would automatically recognize that card was taken out or put back in. In SuSE 10 I stuck the card out and OS froze. Then I rebooted and stuck the card back in (while GNOME was running), and it wouldn't recognize anything. I had to run Yast > Networking and restart the card. Is this suppose to be like this? I thought linux was EZ and userfriendly by now, gnome desktop sure looks like that.
I'm using Dell Inspiron 2600, with A08 BIOS. |

I went to YaST > Networking, same place you setup keys for the wifi, and selected activate on for Hotplug. Pretty sure that's not the place you set it for hotplug, because when I removed the card OS would freeze. Please tell me how to setup my card for hotplug?
