Widescreen Problem In 10.1

Hi all,

Just finished installing 10.1. Everything looks great, sound and WLANis working outta box....sweet.

I have a notebook that uses the Intel 915 display wih widescreen. No matter what resolution I set to, when I test the changes before applying it (via Yast -> Hardware -> Display), the Sax2 test screen always reverts to 1024x768.

I did install the 855resolution package as I read it was important for wide-screen notebooks to work properly.

What gives?

My previous FC5 worked after I installed the 855resolution package. Is there something I missed or will this issue be resolved with the retail pack?

I have already placed an order for the 10.1 retail box and am beginning to have 2nd thoughts now.

I really wanna dump windows.........pls help.
