Ok I'm going to give linux on laptops one last shot.
I have an IBM Thinkpad T40 with the following specs 1.4 Centrino Mobile proc 512 Ram (hope to have the money to upgrade it to 1 gig soon....that requires either a single stick or two 512s though) ATI Mobility 7500* Onboard Sound Centrino Wireless adapter B* Linksys Wireless Adpater G* *These things are why I had to reinstall windows Are there some decent guides for getting all 3 of those things installed? The ATI card never got 3d on after doing everything I could think of and read to try. The Wireless was always VERY iffy at best...use wrapper? For some reason suse kept making my ethernet card as my primary...I don't want that, even disabling and puting it on only on plug in didn't help |

Try this site:
http://www.thinkwiki.org/ They have all sorts of Thinkpad troubleshooting and HOWTOs on getting specific models working. The T series is very common, there's plenty of stuff there on them. Thinkpads are generally very well supported in Linux (the newer ones more so than the old ones), and that's the best resource around... I've used it on several successful installs on X series models ~Loki
