Hi,

Am on the verge of insanity trying to work out why this isnt going well.

This is my fglxinfo:

display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.2.1)

This is my glxgears:

2656 frames in 5.0 seconds = 531.200 FPS
4560 frames in 5.0 seconds = 912.000 FPS
4560 frames in 5.0 seconds = 912.000 FPS
3600 frames in 5.0 seconds = 720.000 FPS
3480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 696.000 FPS
3480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 696.000 FPS
3480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 696.000 FPS
3480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 696.000 FPS
3600 frames in 5.0 seconds = 720.000 FPS
3480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 696.000 FPS
3480 frames in 5.0 seconds = 696.000 FPS

Ive downloaded the Ati .run installer, built an rpm, installed rpm and run sax2. And stll no ati driverws

When i went to install the rpm the first time i did get this error (this is someone elses error code, but i got exactly the same kernel module failure):

linux:/tmp # rpm -Uvh fglrx_6_8_0_SUSE100-8.23.7-1.i386.rpmPreparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:fglrx_6_8_0_SUSE100 ########################################### [100%]/usr/src/kernel-modules/fglrx /make: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.13-15.8-obj/i386/default'make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.make: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.13-15.8-obj/i386/default'******************************

So i redownloaded and updated kernel-source. But now everytime i try to install the rpm it says that it is already installed.

Can i uninstall the package and start again. If so, how?

I havent got a clue where to try now, im just going round in circles doing the same ineffective things over and over again!

Any help, especially from someone whose managed to get the drivers on a 64bit system, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance
