i am using suse 10.0 on acer ferrari 3400,

the problem is when i boot the suse. everything works fine but the internet.when i start to download something then somehow download freeze 5-10 seconds and continues.sometimes i loose connection, i have a network adapther BCM5788, and using my companies network (server is windows).

how can i solve this problem. i want to use suse while i am working,

Use the following boot argument in Grub : acpi=noirq and your problem is resolved.

Today computers have the IRQ routing done via ACPI. Why? I don't know. I'm not that technical, butI know that the kernel of some suse version (and maybe also other suse versions) arenot too happy with this and interfere in one way or another cause mouse lockups on USB ports, USB devices not being detected, powermanagement that doesn't work etc.

Now if you tell the kernel not to route IRQ's via ACPI but let the kernel handle it, there will be no problem left.
