When I try to install the ATI driver (on my laptop acer 1692wlmi with ATI Radeon X700):

Quote:

[Message] Kernel Module : Found kernel module build environment, generating kernel module now.
ATI module generator V 2.0

Error:
kernel includes at /usr/src/linux/include do not match current kernel.
they are versioned as "2.6.13-15.8-default"
instead of "2.6.13-15-default".
you might need to adjust your symlinks:
- /usr/include
- /usr/src/linux
[Error] Kernel Module : Failed to compile kernel module - please consult readme.

Two weeks ago I faced the same problem but I solved it by downloading the rpm sources (at hand, not with yast) but I've tried to do it again but without success. Yesterday I updated the kernel with yast and the problem occured (I used "Update the system" and not "Online update", this may not be the exact terms because my system is in french).

Cheers,

Vincent

OK it is solved.

I've updated the system in yast with the utility "Update online" and not "Update the system" (or something like this).

Reboot

./atixxxxxx.run
reboot

fglrxinfo
-> output ATI, ok

glxgears
19767 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3953.400 FPS
22768 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4553.600 FPS
22693 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4538.600 FPS
22630 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4526.000 FPS

fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
3367 frames in 5.0 seconds = 673.400 FPS
3823 frames in 5.0 seconds = 764.600 FPS
3801 frames in 5.0 seconds = 760.200 FPS
3807 frames in 5.0 seconds = 761.400 FPS
3815 frames in 5.0 seconds = 763.000 FPS
3813 frames in 5.0 seconds = 762.600 FPS
