Good day,

I have a new Acer Aspire 5672 laptop with an ATI X1400 chip and a 1280x800 panel. The ATI driver does not support this chip, and as the ATI driver only supports 24 bit and my panel only supports 16bit or 32 bit, I doubt I will ever get it to work. So, I'm looking for other options.

I'm currently using the fbdev driver which seems to limit me to 800x600, 16 bit. I can't do anything else. What other options do I have to get something usefull? I've tried SuSE 10.0 and 10.1 beta.

I have the same problem. The newest driver from the ati website also does not support the x1400. I tried a couple of settings to at least increase the resolution running the framebuffer driver. But it all was useless.

So now I hope for a new release of drivers by ati. If anyone has a better idea how to get it working please tell us.
