I have SuSE 9.2 with the synaptics touchpad driver (with ksynaptics utility) installed and configured. I have a Dell Inspiron 8600.

Everything concerning the touchpad is working fine except for one thing - the tap speed. The delay between my tapping the pad and the tapping actually occuring on screen is about a quarter of a second. I have the Fast Taps option on but there is still a very annoying delay. Is there anyway to make the response instantaneous? Does anyone else even have this problem? I can just use the actual touchpad buttons for an instantaneous click but because I've never had this problem with any previous laptop, I've gotten used to just tapping.

In my Windows partition the tap response is just fine so it's not a hardware issue.
