Does anyone know if the ACPI support has improved in SUSE 9.3? That is my only problem with 9.2. I have a Dell 5160 Inspiron, and I know its not just the laptop. Simpley Mepis 3.3 live cd supports its ACPI just fine.

I'm now running SuSE 9.3 in 32 bits mode on my Acer Ferrari and ACPI works fine, powermanagement works fine en even the Suspend to disk functions properly where I got systematically a Kernel Panic on SuSE 9.2 on this machine.

Only the IRQ routing via ACPI does not work for me on the laptop. It kills my network connection.

I am running suse 9.3, before I had 9.2 and 9.1.

I can say that acpi support for my HP/Compaq nx9010 is quite good, since I am running long simulations with processor usage 100% (sometimes they take more then 5 days) and up to now no prob at all.

But I have a friend, with one Dell laptop, do not know the exact model , but it is with cel 2GHz. He is using 9.2 and is not able to run it with 100% load more then 30 min, It just reboot.

So do not know if the acpi support is getting better ...
