Hello everybody,

I have an AOpen i855GME-LFS motherboard. It is a desktop
motherboard but with notebook components: Intel i855.
The CPU is also a notebook one Pentium M Dothan @ 1,5GHz.

I have a very unpleasant problem: the computer boots sooo
slow, it is unbelievable! I take a look with the ESC to the
boot process and however the order of the PCI/AGP hardware
recognition the boot process spends 30s up to 1 minute
thereafter and the first printed message is

Checking internal tree..finished

and short (as boot message not us time) after once more the same.

Checking internal tree..finished

What does means this message and what takes so long???
Is there a solution to this problem?

thanks,
VEDW

OK!

After a day of search I found the solution:

The "Check" was for the ReiserFS partitions. The default ReiserFS were
created from the instalation programm. I edit the /etc/fstab and I change
the acl, user... options with notail option what makes Reiser faster.

Than you will notice at the end of each fstab line two numbers.
Change them:
- for the boot partition I wrote 1 2
- for root 0 1
- for all other partitions 0 0

Now my Linux boots up much faster with the ReiserFS.
