i understand that my laptop is not a REAL Toshiba laptop. (made in that part of china that is not part of china) so what does that mean when you translate it from chinese? i just want to use the media buttons for kaffiene, and they say that toshiba doesn't support it or they haven't released the info for drivers blah, blah, blah. is there any hope?

I have the same laptop. The media functions work in Ubuntu, but I've yet to get them up and running with Suse 9.2. See the Toshoba Linux database for more info.
