Modular Bay Hotswapping 2nd Battery/cdrom

hi,

anyone know howto enable hot swappability for cdrom and second battery with a dell inspiron 8600 notebook? at the moment if i swap out the battery for the cdrom i reboot to see the cd rom drive.

I'm not aware of any Linux that currently supports hotswapping of modular bay components.
