Hi,

Have a fresh install of Suse 9.1 on my laptop

Want to give every user the ability to standby/suspend my laptop.
Doc says to chmod +s /usr/bin/apm.

Strangely enough I can not find /usr/bin/apm.
There is a /proc/apm though(and the powersave-0.7-7.i586.rpm package is installed).

Did do a find but could not find anything.

Has this changed?

Any help or clue would be appreciated.

Regards

Have you read chapter 8 in the SuSE admin guide? Unless you have apci disabled during boot, it takes precedence over apm so that apm would not be running.
