Hello;
I have loaded Linux on my Laptop, I am dual booting with Windows XP, and I am facing several issue with Suse...they are all listed below. Before I give you the issues I will provide you with an overview of my system specs Sony Vaio PCG-k13 laptop P4 2.8GHz/ 512 MB Ram/ 40 GB HDD/ ATI IGP 345M video / RealTek RTL8139 Network card/ Atheros AR5212 PCI 802.11abg Wireless card which is reported as a LAN-Express AS IEEE 802.11G mini pci adapter in Windows XP/ DLINK 614 Version 3 WIreless Router...This Router Rocks...outperforms the Linksys wrt54G router I had/ last but not least a Kodak 7300 digital camera 3.2 MegaPixel. The issues: 1)Cannot get the WLAN working correctly. Suse detects it as ath0 etc...and I go in and assign the correct WPA Key etc in the settings still it will not function it fails on obtaining an IP address. 2)Cannot get the DVD to playback...using the default player in SUSE. 3)Cannot get my digital camera to function. Detects its there...but shall not transfer a thing...when you try to transfer it states...failure connecting to device. I appreciate any help you provide to me on the issues I am facing. APlustech |

What version of Suse are you trying, 9.0, 9.1, 9.2 or earlier.
1. Have you tried setting a static address to see if it works that way? 2. There have been many posts on DVD playback. Run a search for mplayer, xine or kaffiene and you should find the instructions on how to get this to work. |
