I'm thinking about buying a Toshiva U300
http://www.pocket-lint.co.uk/news/news.pht...notebooks.phtml

I saw that some user had some issues with openSUSE 10.2, but I don't know about 10.3

Anybody had any experience with this model?
Any advice on where should I start checking to know which computer should I buy. I want to have it only with Linux distros, so I'm not planning on using windows at all. I need to be sure that I will be able to use all possible features.

Thank you

My wife and I plan to purchase a new laptop, probably around the November timeframe. The places where I look for Linux compatibility in Laptops is:

a. linlap: http://www.linlap.com/
b. openSUSE hardware compatibility List: http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Laptops
c. linux lapop: http://www.linux-laptop.net/
d. tux mobile: http://tuxmobil.org/mylaptops.html

Also for IBM/Leveno laptops, there is the great thinkwiki site: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/ThinkWiki

In the case of the Toshiba U300:
a. linlap: http://www.linlap.com/wiki/Toshiba+Satellite+U300-U305
b. openSUSE HCL: http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Laptops/Toshiba (take a look at the bottom of the matrix)
c. Linux laptop: http://nemaris.multiservers.com/toshiba/sa...e-pro-u300.html
d. Tux mobile: http://www.itopen.it/2007/11/22/ubuntu-lin...satellite-u300/

Where a review has been done for a different distribution, it doesn't hurt to examine their solution for sorting some drivers, and research for an openSUSE approach for the same hardware. Typically (but not always) if it works on one distribution, it will work on another.
