Other Linux distributions, including Mepis Linux 7.0, PC Linux 2007 or Puppy Linux 4.0, are projected on the screen with no problem by our InFocus X1a projector connected to our HP ZE2113US laptop but OpenSUSE, including 10.3 and 11.0 B3, does not project. Obviously this makes it very difficult to demonstrate OpenSUSE to a large group of people. How do we fix this problem?

Thanks, http://www.Linux-Now.us

We entered 800 x 600 SVGA for the second projector as described at http://en.opensuse.org/Laptops_and_external_VGA and the projector worked. Interestingly, though Dual Head Mode was originally checked and we entered both settings in Dual Head Mode, when we looked at the monitor properties later, Dual Head Mode was unchecked. However both the laptop LCD and the projector are now working as 1024x768 (XGA). It sounds like the answer was not to have Dual Head Mode checked like it originally was by default.

Thanks,

I know I'm late, but if I might share my experience, detection of LCD projectors is best when you boot your PC with the projector powered on and plugged in. The only thing you'll have to tweak later is the resolutions.
