Hello,

I have wireless internet working on my laptop, but I can only start it as root. I'm not sure how to really start it. I just try a bunch of things (kwifimanager, yast, kinternet), and suddenly it turns on.

How do I have it start automatically with no need for su permissions?

Thanks.

have you tried setting it to user controlled in the global options of YaST-network devices - network cards ?

I checked the box that says something like "allow users to configure with Kinternet". Are you talking about another option?

Do I do that in Yast? I know there is an option to choose how it is started (on boot, on cable connections, etc.). If so, I have tried setting it to 'on boot'.

You may also edit this file after making a backup

/etc/sysconfig/kernel

add your module(s) to this line: MODULES_LOADED_ON_BOOT=""
