External Dvd Drive Doesn't Detect Inserted Media Anymore After Usi

Yesterday I used K3B to copy a CD. When doing this I got the message Kaudio... is using the drive, Do you want to stop the application? This I confirmed to continue. The copying was successful.
Later I wanted to listen to another CD and the autoplay window didn't show up. Also with the Konqueror I didn't see the drive in the media directory. When I start K3B it lists the externel DVD drive, but tells me there is no media inserted. But there is one. I tried different CDs.

Does anybody have an idea, how I can fix this?

Today I found out that the drive must be defective. It is listed in OpenSuse and Windows, when I insert a CD the green LED beginns flashing, stops after a few seconds, but the CD isn't detected.
