I have purchased a Soundblaster Audigy SE and I can't seam to get it to work for nothing. I am new to Linux and this is the first time I ever used it. Can someone explain to me what I can try to get this to work?
Thanks,
Rocky

OK, here is how I got sound (albeit cr@ppy) out of my Audigy SE on SuSE 10.1.

1) Start KMix.
2) Open Mixer
3) Turn OFF everything (i.e zero volume on all channels).
4) Click 'Switches' tab.
5) Turn off IEC958.
6) Click 'Output' tab.
7) Raise volume on 'Analog Front'.
8) Marvel at the lousy sound quality coming out of your perfectly good Audigy SE board - but hey, it works....

Alternatively for command-freaks,
SU root
ALSACONF
Click OK, OK, Yes
ALSAMIXER
Disable IEC958, turn all volumes off except Analog Front.

Enjoy...
