"Wrong ID" listing on Via Tech USB 2.0 card

I got a Via Tech 2 Port USB 2.0 card installed in my system. It is lbeing listed as "Wrong ID" and the ports do not work. Someone in another forum said something about removing a "module" but like many times I ask a queston in a forum, the help fizzles out before I get an answer. I know practiaclly nothing about linux, so please be gentle

SUSE 9.2 with all updates
