"resource Temporarily Unavailable"

I have SuSE 8.1 pro, and I'm trying to install my Speedtouch 330 USB modem. I followed the instructions here to the letter, but when trying to connect I get the message "Resource temporarily unavailable" in the log and it quits trying...any ideas? both lights on the modem are green

all sorted now!!! There is a script at http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/ that does it all beautifully!!!

What does it mean by "silver modem" on that link you gave mistafeesh? I have a speedtouch 330 as well.
