Hi

Can anyone tell me why the mount parameter is default set to shortname=lower when mounting a vfat drive?

It gives problems when eg. making af backup with rsync to a external harddisk formatted with vfat.

See for example: http://www.osnews.com/story/9681/The_vfat_...nd_Linux/page1/

I am aware that is is possible to change the mount parameter on each mount, but why is shortname=mixed not just the default?

/Sune
