Bis Morgan!

Been trying to set up xen for a few days. I've tried several of the "How To's" over on OpenSuSE. With no real success.

Hardware is a vanilla ECS GeForce 6100 w/2GB SDRAM, 3GHtz AMD AM2 dualcore, onboard NIC(Marvel), Seagate HDD and Nvidia G7600 Video FB.

Installing OS 10.3 (kernel 2.6.22.17.0.1) with minimal install(no games, multimedia, etc.)

I tried the first howto as best I could and even used the 2nd howto(zero to xen from CLI) to validate I had a good install & update of files and repo's. On boot, this system hangs and kernel panics around where it runs out of free memory in the IOMMU phase?

Tried building system on new clean drive with just the 02xenfmCLI install. Again, kernel panic, out of memory error.

So, just for G&G, I tried the 02xenfmCLI to verify and install on an old installed drive that I kept updated with appropriate repo's. Lo!!! no kernel panic, BUT tty is unresponsive to keybd!!! I did try a few variations of stty _sane_ with no effect. After 20 or so {ENTER} key presses, the system will see my keypresses and respond another 20 or so {ENTER} presses. But not consistently.

Rather than me futzing with this all weekend, I figured somewhere, someone must have xen up and running in full virtualized host mode and can save me some time. Or not!

Anyone else out there seen these problems or is this old news? I've s****ed all the Forums for xen kernel panic and it's nowhere to be found.

I surely appreciate any input, even if it's to the _no, never heard of this_ flavor!

Thanks! Vielen Danke!

Blaine
