Somewhere where i can change graphic settings i experimented and changed 24 [bit] color mode to 16.
SusE said me if it will not recover press Ctrl+Alt+Backspace to restore. I decided to test . But to my surprise the monitor [Benq} screen was unstable. On pressing Ctrl+Alt+Backspace several times , the screens changed but not returned like b4. I could not read, see or know any thing on the screen except few scattered colors that clearly states errors. After reboot too nothing is clear and i can even see the texts, buttons, cursors during the log in process. B4 that, the SuSe blue logos are all clear. How can i restore my screen settings to make use of my Suse 10.2 |

I'm assuming you can't see the screen properly. So in a terminal enter su to become root and then enter yast to start the text-only version of yast. Find your way to Hardware on LHS and Graphics card & monitor on RHS. The should open a thing called sax2 which recalibrates the video.

What do you see when booting finishes? Where do you end up?

I end up in the gui screen that asks me username and password. Nothing is visible clearly.
Even the two fields that i mentioned, i had to guess it's position and then type. Then the sound says i had logged in.But then i cant guess position of anything more.So i have to reboot. okey leave it If i use boot safe , then i end up in a console. WHat should i modify in me etc/x11/xorg.conf, and how do i do that. vim command does'nt works like edit in dos. It's too hard. How to i overwite that read only fiile ? And what should i change their to restore 24 bit from 16 and make evrything fine again ? |

OK in a console after using failsafe boot, & logged in as root:
enter sax2 and follow the bouncing ball to reconfigure x Swerdna |
