Hi,
Open SUSE 10 newbie.
Where do they keep the $PATH variable? so I can modify it to include the real player directory.
Thanks

An appropriate place for you to append to your path would be in the ~/.profile file. (This is the .profile in your home directory.)

Add a line like:
Code:
export PATH=$PATH:/real/player/path/here
to that file.

Next time you log in it will be set.

Thanks, I saw that .profile
Is there a system profile above that, and where is it located in OpenSUSE?

Sorry. Not having much luck with the SUSE help manual yet. Hopefully soon.

See /etc/profile, in particular the remark about /etc/profile.local at the beginning.
