Hi!

I'm new with Linux and Suse and need some help.

After booting Suse 10.3, KDE starts (I can read "Kde ist gestartet" and the kde-splash-screen disappears). So far, so good. But just a second or two later, i get a black screen, with no mouspointer visible. The only thing works is [Ctrl + Alt + Backspace], which takes me back to the log-in. From there i can start KDE4. KDE4 is working fine.

Starting in failsafe is not working, because i can't read a thing. There are "+" chars everywhere.

It's my guess, that some programm, starting after KDE, is the cause of the trouble i have. How do i disable all starts after KDE?

Sorry for my english, posting in german would make things easier for me

Thanks!

You should check your xorg.conf file or /var/log/Xorg.0.log first.

sounds a bit strange. boot into kde4. add all the kde 3.5.x repositories, then go into software management, and reinstall kde 3. might be a bit drastic but should def work. might be missing dependancy or something somewhere. someone else might have other ideas...
