Hello!

I installed Open SUSE 10.3 on my son's computer. The installation went well, but when I try to start KDE or Gnome after 1 or 2 seconds the system freezes completely. Neither keyboard nor mouse are available. Only power-shutoff helps.
Other, less complicated, GUIs work well.

Which informations do you need for dealing with this problem?

What could it be?

Thanks

You might give the computers specs, such as amount of Ram, video card and whether you have tested the memory for problems. B)

piece of cake, YaST can run in CLI mode, just as easily. you just use tab, space, arrow keys & enter key instead of mouse
