i have downloaded and installed the 1click install for compiz fusion, went into sax2 and enabled 3d support, and edited xorg.conf to allow compositing. now, when i go to type, as su, gnome-xgl-switch --enable-xgl in a terminal, i get command not found. where am i going wrong? i had compiz working before but can't remember how i did it

thanks.

What hardware is it and have you considered not using xgl?

well compiz is now working, although, the main reason why i got it, the emerald theme manager is not working, yet window decoration is ticked....

no worries, sorted that out. now need to remember how to get the cube off (as the taskbar on each 4 of my desktops shows the windows from all desktops now.)

cheers guys. if you know how to do this, let me know if not i'll figure it out eventually.

you will have issues running any other 3d programs-- use aiglx instead.

Perhaps yopu can answer a question for me. I've tried enabling AIXGL on my laptop, but it does not work properly. Some programs, when i start them, just show an empty window. Launch alerts become white blobs. Now, i've tried following the instructions here. But where do i ad this bit of code?
