Is possible to run Wine (a 32bit app) in a 64bit system and use Jack (64 bit) as the sound output? (so I can use wineasio)

The only thing that I get is a nice crash in Winecfg when I try to test the audio with Jack.

PS: I found this article about the subject, but it seems a big pain in the ***. Anybody knows an easier way?

you can use wineasio-x, until the jack developers get their 64/32 bit bugs fixed.

Hi am trying to use your wineasio with jackbridge but despite setting ASIO_OUTPUTS in my environment, I keep getting the error "Not enough ASIO output channels available. At least 2 channels are needed". This is with an Audigy 2ZS nb and running FL Studio through wine. Any ideas?

Are you sure you are using the wineasio.dll.so, that is created when compiling
wineasio-x ?

With this version you set the in/outputs in the file common.h before executing the makefile.
The default is 8 inputs and 8 outputs. Environment variables are not used.

And remember to start jackbridge before starting the wine application.

Hi, thanks for answering, somehow the forum did not notify me of a reply. Anyway, evidently I was not starting jackbridge which I figured out at some point. However, even though I do have 8 outputs in the jack connect dialog, in the app running under wine (and as shown through winecfg) I only get a stereo out... Any ideas? Or is this expected?

I recompiled with 16 outs and although it gave the same result with FL7, switching to FL8 gives me the expected number of outs, ie matching the system ins in qjackctl connect dialog.

I take it FL7/8 is what was Fruity Loops if you haven't come across it LMMS still got some areas to improve in, but seems a project worth watching.
