For a while now I've had an Amarok update that won't update.
If I try to install the update, it fails (no idea how or why) and then shows as an available update again.

Any ideas on how to get this update installed or just to stop showing in the OPENSUSE Updater?

Try this: uninstall AMAROK completely and then install it again.

I have the same problem. The update doesn't show up in YaST Software management. Better leave it as it is

Oh the joy!
Tried to just delete amarok had to also delete kde-multimedia.
So deleted both then tried to reinstall both agian. kde-multimedia installed fine, amarok wouldn't intall due to dependancies (libtunepimp5-mad and others). Tried to solve them but no joy. So decided to not install amaraok.

That pesky amarok 4492-0 update was still showing in the openSUSE updater even though amarok is no longer on the system.

So tried to install the update through the openSUSE updater again, failed as usual.

Tried the online update through YAST, finally that pesky update installed/disapeared? and no longer shows up on the openSUSE updater icon.

woo hoo I win.

Except amarok now isn't installed.

Back to yast, tried to install amarok again, failed dependancies.

Give in.

Several guys have had success with updating Amarok manually via YaST. All the packages written in blue fonts need to be updated. Now, I think that if you have Packman and VideoLan enabled, once these are updated, and you refresh the openSUSE Updater applet, everything should be back to normal.

I couldn't make an audio CD from my MP3's, so, I went and re-updated everything. As a result, I now have this same problem again !! As well, if I go to update manually, there is all the checking the repos and such - with some needing to be refreshed, as there is an error. It takes, sometimes, up to 45 minutes just to get to the point where you can do any search for items to update !!

So, I click on the "New software" option, just to rid it and continue on my merry way for now.

Thanks for the advice guys. At first i couldn't install the update in yast online update either, it was giving dependency errors. I rebuilt the rpm and zypper databases, and then deleted my installation CD from the repository list. then yast online update succeeded and opensuseupdater-kde returned 0 for the first time.

yay!
