flashplayer should be installed by default and should work.

There is no 64bit flashplayer. http://www.thehansofoundation.org/ this site works in Konqueror 64bit and 32bit firefox.

iirc to get it to work in the default 64bit firefox you need to use nspluginwrapper

Ok, thanks! I've been using the 32-bit OpenSuse 10.3, but since my machine has a 64-bit dual core processor, I was thinking of installing the 64-bit 10.3 instead. on another machine, I'm running the 64-bit Kubuntu 7.10, and noticed a big difference in speed as opposed to the 32-bit Kubuntu 7.10.

If I'm honest now I'll add I've not compared it on benchmark tests but I find little differences between the 2. Though I'll also add I've not actually tried the 32bit 10.3 to see, but going on experience of Suse 10.2.

I think a lot does come down to use, now as I don't do a lot of graphic intensive work, audio, major compiling or database stuff I don't see anything to go screaming about.

Now you'll have to change firefox to 32bit but after that most of it is transparent, in day to day use I see little difference.

Main hurdle is java to which I have 2 installations 64bit for OO and other bits and 32bit for firefox.

gnash is still very new, doesn't work on many flash movies, also it only supports flash7 and below

I have flash player running on Firefox on the 10.3 X86_64 version but I use the flash player coming with the 10.3
Note that I had also installed the NPplusginwrapper and the viewer from 10.3 ...it works...hope that helps...

Keep your eyes open for the flash update. It was just few weeks back when the new update worked with Firefox, but Konqueror and Opera were left with blank flash windows. I rolled back to the version that came on the original DVD.

My flash worked perfectly from the first install. I have not had the same issues as some. Not sure why, but everything simply works except for the one Java problem. For that, I just use Konqueror.
