Either I'm barking up the wrong tree or we have our wires crossed afaik that bug is fixed I haven't seen too many complaints for that specific bug, it bit a few of us. There was a few work arounds posted on this forum in howto get it to update so it was aware of the update.

My post was in regards to 64bit plugin not a problem with 32bit java in a 64bit environment which those bugs are. I fixed that specific bug myself before the update so I can't specifically talk. But I believe that got fixed in a patch.

Thanks for your comment, effort and dedication. I am not sure I follow exactly your English, I am sorry about that, but English is not my mother tongue. To summarize:
If you know how to install a JRE plugin for Firefox/X86_64 bit environment, be is a 32 bit plugin or a 64 bit one, please be so kind and let me know.
If one has to come back to a 32 bit Forefox, like MattB suggested, to have JAVA pluging working, it's maybe ok too, though I think, in the long term, we have to find a solution for the 64 bit environment, because the future goes that way....friendly yours N.

The solution is as the earlier post use yast click version tab, change versions update firefox. Then install the plugin depending what version but iirc you'll need a 64bit java for open office, so I choose to install 1.6 as 32bit.

At all steps confirm you have actually installed 32bit, then it should work fine. I say this because it took me several attempts to get 32bit java with the plugin at one time it installed the plugin but bought in 64bit java, which won't work.

As for the other well Good luck seems we're waiting on Sun and have been for several years.
