The installation method you chose is a difficult one for troubleshooting. Most of us, including myself, have never installed this way. Hence solving problems that you have encountered can be harder to approach. Which is why I typically recommend not doing a network install, if it can be avoided.

Have you tried installing a 3rd party software package manager, to simplify your additional 3rd pary software installation hickups?

No, i haven't tried that. Where would i find one??

I'm running both Konqueror & Firefox and had no errors during installation. [/b]
In your firefox location bar, type:
rpm -q flash-plugin

What do you get?

I recommend smart, and you can find instructions here:
http://susewiki.org/index.php?title=...ackage_Manager

But it just occured to me, ... are you using a 64-bit installation of SuSE? If so, then that could explain some of your problems, as installations for 64-bit can be trickier than that for 32-bit.

In Firefox, there is no mention of Flash.
From the rpm command, i get:
flash-plugin-9.0.31.0-release

Then flash should have installed (and should show up with aboutlugins, unless, of course, you are using a 64-bit suse, and mixing up 32-bit packages with it unintentionally.

I suspect that explains some of your problems. I am a 32-bit user, and I've never used 64-bit, so I can't help here. Launching immediately into using a 64-bit SuSE, with no 32-bit experience is setting your self, a big challenge. 64-bit works, but its not yet set up to be as "userfriendly" as 32-bit.

What I can do is move this entire thread to the 64-bit part of our forum, and ask for help there. .... If the users there (on the 64-bit forum) note this is not a 64-bit problem, then I can move this thread back here.

I've moved this topic to the 64-bit environments forum area, as I think at least one, and maybe more of the mentioned problems are 64-bit related.

Can any of the 64-bit users who frequent this forum area offer any advice?

Further to a comment on this post, I do not think there is a flashplayer for 64 bit firefox. You will need to install a 32bit Firefox. ... as to how you separate a 32-bit and 64-bit firefox on the same PC, I have no idea. We need one of our 64-bit users to chime in here.

Done, all i had to do was manually scan for plugins under Configure Konqueror.
Thanks.
