/usr/lib/libfontconfig.so: Could Not Read Symbols: File In Wrong Forma

Hello,

Below is part of the output of the make command when trying to compile libgtkhtml-2.6.3. I cannot find any information as to why this keeps happening other than I am running Suse 10.1 64 bit and it is accessing a 32 bit library and file. I don't know how to tell make to look in the /usr/lib64/ directory for libfontconfig.so. Somebody please help. Thanks.

P.S. Please assume i don't know the syntax of any command, so if you offer a command, please include the syntax. Thanks!!!
