I stumbled across this while debugging adding local media support to smart.

OK, so first I remembered that it had to do with sysfs, in which I looked up http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:SUSE_Linux_Hotp...onfig.2Fhotplug and found that it was out of date. You won't find /etc/sysconfig/hotplug in 10.3. But, it did give me enough information to track down what I needed which is the udev rules. The udev rules can be found here /etc/udev/rules.d and here is a nice web site that tells you all about it http://reactivated.net/writing_udev_rules.html

Also as a point of interest, check your /etc/auto.master, you will find that this line
Quote:
/misc /etc/auto.misc[/b]
is commented out. Also check /etc/auto.misc.
