try CCSM > Window Previews > Check 'Taskbar only shows windows of current viewport'

Thanks had missed it

Though it doesn't actually change a thing closest I got was with some compiz panel but still didn't quite work. Is my only thing left to solve with compiz-fusion now.

Well I'm not having much joy with either of them, kicker-compiz at least gives me an applet but then I end up arguing with desktop which normally likes 1 but when running that needs the 4.

Then it does strange things like crashing the taskbar sometimes previewing all sometimes previewing none then sometimes it gets it right. As for the other I install it but it changes nothing to my eyes.

kicker-compiz is based on 3.5.4, you have 3.5.8 installed.
though it would be nice if someone would fix this.

if compiz still requires gconf, on suse system this means a whole bunch of dependencies.

If you build 0.6.0 from source it doesn't, just run './configure --help' and add the anti-gnome parameters, don't know about the packages though

and yes compiz has an ini and kconfig plugin but I reccomed using libcompizconfig's ccp plugin

suse packages tends to add more, not less dependencies
